Oliver Vornberger

Oliver Vornberger, born in 1951, directs the Media working group computer science at the University of Osnabrück. Together with colleagues, he founded the Center in 2002 to support virtual education at the University of Osnabrück, called virtUOS. In addition to his activities in research and teaching, Vornberger also engaged in self-management: He leads as Managing Director of the Institute of computer science and is the speaker of the Senate of the University of Osnabrück. For his dedication in teaching Vornberger received in 2009 on a proposal from the German Rectors 'Conference, sponsored by the Donors' Association for German Science, the "Ars Legendi price for excellent university teaching." In the same year he was honored along with Karsten Morisse of the University of Osnabrück for its e-learning activities with the Science Prize of Lower Saxony.
