Dr. Michael Ungar is the Killam Professor of Social Work at Dalhousie University, Scientific Director of the Children and Youth in Challenging Contexts Network, founder and Co-Director of the Resilience Research Centre. In 2012 Michael was the recipient of the Canadian Association of Social Workers National Distinguished Service Award. His ground-breaking work as a family therapist and resilience researcher is recognized around the world for the influence it has had on therapeutic approaches to children’s wellbeing. He lives in Halifax, Canada.

Based on work done by the Children and Youth in Challenging Contexts (CYCC) Network, this course will introduce promising practices for helping vulnerable children and youth. Over the course of 4 weeks, participants will explore seven knowledge syntheses identifying practices most likely to positively influence young people’s lives.
