Kathleen Sitzman

 

 


 

Kathleen Sitzman, RN, PhD, CNE is a nursing professor at East Carolina University School of Nursing. Before coming to the ECU in 2012, she taught in the Weber State University (WSU) School of Nursing and was the director of the WSU Bachelor of Integrated Studies Program. She earned her BSN and MSN from the University of Utah, and her PhD from the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to being a nurse educator, she is a well-known author and caring science researcher.

This course provides tools to help caring professionals enhance professional caring practices in everyday work environments. Learners will be introduced to Watson’s Caring Science. Exploration and learning related to key concepts will be supported through the introduction of mindfulness practice, reflective narrative, and contemplative art.
