Jerôme de Hemptinne

After a law degree at the University of Louvain (1992) and two LL.M. in public international law at the University of Cambridge (1994) and at the New York University (NYU) (1995), Jerome De Hemptinne worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia for about nine years where, notably he acted as Chef de Cabinet for the President. In 2006, he joined the Office of Legal Counsel of the United Nations in New York. Between 2008-2015, he worked at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon as a senior legal officer. He is currently a researcher with the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. He is also teaching IHL at the Universities of Louvain and Strasbourg and at the Geneva Academy.
