Jelle Zijlstra (MSc) graduated at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft in 1989. He has been working as a product designer, for clients like Gazelle, Union (bicycles) and the Dutch Postal and Telecom Services. In 1995 he developed the Fietshangar, a safe storage for five bicycles to be fitted on a parking space. Later on he started teaching (Sustainable) Design and Design Didactics in Delft and Man and Mobility at the Design Academy Eindhoven. As a co-editor of the Delft Design Guide, he believes that design methods can support the creative power of designers and are vital in communicating effectively during innovation processes.
