Javier Larios, Instructor at Smart Cities Innovation Center CUCEA UDG: With a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Corporate Communication Studies (AKA Bachelor of Science in Communications), Prof. Larious started a career by developing skills in Public Affairs (Public Relations) by analyzing audiences’ behaviors and their needs, to accomplish a better understanding between focused audience and business unit required. He also participated as an acting core team member on performance improvement projects in different business areas. At Hewlett-Packard for 8.5 years he developed skills and competencies throughout a career by holding different positions focused in technology service delivery. Throughout this experience, he spent 5+ years in researching, problem solving, ownership & decision making, training and development, business communications, project management fundamental and people management areas (last role developed at different levels including small & medium business, corporate & enterprise and last but not least, public sector involving government, health, and higher education areas), developing material for training and business presentations purposes going from entry to VP levels making sure all information presented is acknowledged and assimilated. By managing these areas into work experience, Larios developed a deep understanding of KPIs, Metrics, and Goal Setting by interacting with multiple business units worldwide (including IT, Transportation and Logistics, Global Procurement, Supply Chain, and EHS, to name a few).
