James G. Houston

Dr. Houston holds a Ph.D. from Portland State University in Urban Studies emphasizing criminal justice. He worked for twenty years in corrections before turning to academe. As a member of the academy for twenty-two years he taught a number of courses in criminology and policy analysis, both in the traditional classroom and a distance format. He is the author of four books in correctional administration, juvenile justice, criminal justice policy and an intro textbook. In addition, he authored or co-authored a number of papers and research endeavors presented at national and international conferences. He has consulted both in the United States and abroad.
