Barry Solaiman
Barry Solaiman is an Assistant Professor at HBKU Law School. In 2017, he completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge which evaluated political corruption and lobbying issues in the UK. His research has been presented to the Centre for Public Law at Cambridge and the British Association of Comparative Law at Oxford. He worked abroad in Hong Kong as a teacher in 2013, holds an LLM in Commercial Law from Durham University (2012), an LLB from Newcastle University (2010), and was called to the London Bar in 2011.
His experience extends beyond the confines of academia having assisted Lord Brooke of Alverthorpe on the Lobbying Transparency Bill [2016/17] which he drafted amendments to. He also assisted the British Academy on a report pertaining to a potential British Bill of Rights, and liaised with experts throughout Europe when compiling a database covering the laws on the funding of political parties for the Department of Sociology at Cambridge.
