Assumpta Uzamukunda

Assumpta Uzamukunda has a background in Biodiversity Conservation, Forest Management and Forest Policy. She has experience in landscape restoration, landscape governance, sustainable food and agriculture, multi-stakeholder processes and resource mobilization. She currently works as a local representative of the partnership between SNV and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) in the HortInvest project. This includes mainly institutional development, capacity building, technical assistance and facilitation of public-private collaboration and consultation. In the past Assumpta has worked for FAO, IUCN and the Rwanda Water and Forests Authority (RWFA) on landscape governance related topics. Her main duties were to participate in formulation, implement and enforcement of the national policies, laws, strategies and plans for the rehabilitation of natural forests, to design models for sustainable management of forest ecosystems, and to liaise with different stakeholders involved in the sustainable management of forest ecosystems, and to study the relationships between forest ecosystems and livelihoods.
