Aiko Holvikivi

Aiko Holvikivi is Assistant Professor of Gender, Peace and Security at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she teaches postgraduate courses in Gender Studies. Her research is interested in transnational movements of people and of knowledges, and how these are productive of/produced by gendered and racialised (in)security. Aiko is currently exploring these themes through projects on the politics of knowledge production in peacekeeper gender training; forced displacement in the international Women, Peace and Security agenda; and transnational anti-gender politics.
Her scholarship is informed by her professional background working on questions of gender and security at an international civil society organisation and her research is characterised by on-going dialogue and exchange with policy and practitioner communities, including with civil society organisations, the United Nations, and national security sector institutions.
