Università degli Studi di Parma

The University of Parma (Italian: Università degli Studi di Parma, UNIPR) is one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1117 as a center for study of the general liberal arts curriculum of the medieval period. The University holds 18 Departments, 35 first degree courses, 6 one-cycle degree courses, 38 second degree courses, as well as many Postgraduate schools, several Masters' Degrees and Research Doctorates (PhD). The different locations of the University allow students to study in comfortable, efficient structures near green areas, such as the Campus: a 77 hectare area south of the city accommodating scientific deparments, with modern and well-equipped lecture halls, comfortable study areas, technologically advanced laboratories- as well as several sports facilities, a conference centre, and a canteen. This significant combination of structures and people is absolutely unique on the Italian university scene. International Students will be welcome at the Erasmus and International Home in the hearth of the city, and they will take advantage of Italian language courses especially taught to help academic study.
Some degree courses are totally taught in English, while there is a growing offer of English taught courses in the Architecture Master of Science Course, in the Engineering courses and in the Humanities courses too, such as the interdisciplinary International Master Digital Library Learning.
