Universidad Nacional de Córdoba

Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) is a tuition-free public university funded by the Argentine government. It is located in Córdoba, the capital city of the province by the same name.
Founded in 1613, it is the oldest university in Argentina, and one of the most prestigious in Latin America. The colonial university buildings located downtown were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2000.
Its 15 academic schools cover all areas of knowledge, with over one hundred research institutes, 22 libraries, 17 museums, and two astronomical observatories. Academic, research and cultural activities take place on campus and in downtown UNC buildings. Currently, the UNC has over 100,000 students, and over 8,000 professors, most of whom are also researchers.
