Randy Deere has completed his 31st year at WKU. He came to WKU in the Fall of 1983 as the Associate Athletic Trainer and Men's Basketball Trainer after serving 3 years at Liberty University as the Head Athletic Trainer. In 1988 he returned to Graduate School at Middle Tennessee State University to complete a doctoral degree in Physical Education in Higher Education. After completing the degree in 1992, he moved into a tenure track assistant professors position within the Physical Education and Recreation Dept. at WKU. In 2005, he moved into the College of Health and Human Services as Assistant Dean. He chose to leave that position and return to full time teaching as a professor in the Department of Kinesiology Recreation and Sports (Old PE and REC Department) in the fall 2011. He is blessed to have a bride of 36 years and 3 beautiful children, a son in law and the most beautiful grandchild you have ever seen!!!!! He loves to read (James Lee Burke, Richard Marciko, Lee Child, David Baldacci and John Grisham), ride his Harley and fish. Family, Faith and Fellowship are the most important things to him. Being able to watch people learn, grow, and prosper is the best.
