Rainer Böhme

Rainer Böhme is Juniorprofessor (Assistant Professor) of Information Systems and IT Security at the University of Münster in Germany. Until 2010 he was Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, California. His research interests include the economics of privacy and information security, privacy-enhancing technologies, usable privacy and security, multimedia security, digital forensics, and cryptographic currencies. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication Science and Economics (2003) and a Doctorate in Computer Science (2008), both from Technische Universität Dresden in Germany. He also worked at the European Central Bank, where he served for the Directorate General Economics and the former Directorate Financial Stability & Supervision.
