Pilar Carrera

Associate professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Director of the Master’s Program in Transmedia Documentary UC3M. Award for Excelence in Research UC3M (2014). BA in Communication Sciences, País Vasco University (UPV-EHU), 1998. Doctoral Studies at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, 2000-2003. She obtains her PhD (cum laude) with a thesis on German philosopher Walter Benjamin. She has been visiting Scholar at Yale University (on a Salvador de Madariaga scholarship), Harvard University and London School of Economics. Author of several books and articles about film theory and media theory, among them: Aki Kaurismäki (Cátedra 2012), Andrei Tarkovski. La imagen total (Andrei Tarkovski. The total image, Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2008).
