Osmel Manzano

Osmel Manzano is Regional Economic Advisor for the Country Department for Belize, Central America, Mexico, Panama and Dominican Republic at the Inter-American Development Bank. He is responsible for the economic work and macroeconomic monitoring of the IADB in Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He is also Adjunct Professor at IESA Business School (in Venezuela). Previously, he was Assistant Director, and Coordinator of the Research Program at the Andean Development Corporation (CAF). He was also Adjunct Professor at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello and has been invited to teach at different Latin American universities. He has been working on the development challenges in the Central American Isthmus, with emphasis on agriculture, energy, and growth and productivity. He has also worked on the issues of development on resource abundant countries with an emphasis on oil abundance. He is the authored different publications on these subjects. He has also been a Visiting Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government of the John F. Kennedy School of Government (Harvard University) and Analyst at the Office of the Chief Economist of Petroleos de Venezuela.
