Li Li Zyzak

Li Li Zyzak teaches chemistry and biochemistry at McHenry County College and other colleges and universities in the greater Chicago area. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of South Carolina after earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. After completing her doctorate degree, Dr. Zyzak conducted research studies on cell culture-signal transduction techniques for understanding the immortalization of keratinocyte cell lines. Before pursuing her passion for teaching, she worked for two companies: first with a major food company, where she commercialized a calcium fortified milk beverage; then with a flavor company, where she developed techniques to investigate the interaction of fragrance/cosmetic products with skin tissue. She was granted two patents for her work in the industry and likes to share her passion about chemistry with her students by teaching them how to link science to business applications.
