Birger Langkjær, is associate professor in film and media studies, Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, University of Copenhagen. He is a specialist in film and sound and in Scandinavian New Wave cinema. Besides articles in international journals he has published Realism in Danish Cinema (2012, in Danish) and Film Sound and Film Experience. From Classical to Modern Film (1996, in Danish).
