Amy Elliott

Amy Elliott is a research scientist in Additive Manufacturing (AM) at Oak Ridge National Labs. She received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech from the DREAMS Lab, which stands for Design, Research, and Education for Additive Manufacturing Systems. In the DREAMS lab, Amy operated various inkjet, extrusion, and laser-based AM technologies. Amy led the design and fabrication of the DreamVendor – the world’s first 3D printing vending machine. Her research at ORNL focuses on inkjet-based systems as well as desktop-sized 3D printers. In addition, Amy currently is studying the state of AM metals technology in terms of capability and operator burden.
