Amy Bond




Amy Bond holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Stephens College and a MFA in Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University. Prior to showing at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York in 2012, Her eponymous Los Angeles made contemporary label ran from 1999- 2004, and at its height sold to boutiques in over thirty cities across the US and three internationally. The flagship store at One Colorado in Pasadena was an innovative concept where manufacturing was done on site. Bond has been a featured designer at several shows around her previous residence of Las Vegas, where she provided design development services under her Udahaus Studio umbrella.

While the term “Fashion Icon” is relatively modern, fashion has always been defined and redefined by bold visionaries throughout history. Images of today's celebrities and fashion mavens are ever-present, but long before the selfie, sculpture and painting captured individuals and their fashion styling. Designers still look to these powerful sources for fashion elements and inspiration, and this course will trace the history of clothing and the way that themes have been interpreted over the last 500 years.
