In this introductory class, Veronica shares her step-by-step process for using product analytics to glean specific, actionable insights — and focuses on 3 reports that will unlock your strategic, analytical potential.
You'll learn how to:
- Segment users into groups to understand behavioral trends
- Analyze first-time and repeat users to improve overall retention
- Identify user drop-off points to improve conversion rates
This class is designed for all skill levels. You may be a product manager aiming to hone your analytical skills, an entrepreneur looking to improve your app, or a marketing manager tasked with fine-tuning your website. If you're ready to dive into your product data, this class is for you.
It's time to unlock your ability to think strategically about your product, make informed decisions, and drive impact with tangible results!
Create your first tracking plan!
New to product analytics? It all starts with a tracking plan. Using Veronica's guidelines, create a tracking plan to outline the key events you need to monitor. This can be a simple list of the buttons and pages you want to track, or an in depth implementation spec like the one Veronica uses in the class. Share you plan for feedback, and send it to your developer to implement it into your product!
Key considerations:
- What is your #1 business goal right now? Is there a user action that contributes to that goal?
Example: If your goal is sales, you can track how many times a user clicks the "order" button on your site.
- How big is your team? How many goals can you realistically focus on at one time?
Tip: If you're going solo, start by tracking the actions that lead to one specific goal.
- What changes are you thinking about making to your product next?
Implement tracking that will contribute to making decisions around an upcoming change. If you've been meaning to update your newsletter sign-up or your order page, track user flows that include those pages.
