One Health, One Medicine: A Sustainable Approach (SGU)
This course will expose you to relevant areas of One Health One Medicine with special emphasis on Sustainability issues. Global health burden, determinants of health, strategies towards promoting health and applications towards a sustainable approach for the health of humans, animals and the environment will be covered.

Students will be exposed to relevant areas of One Health One Medicine with special emphasis on Sustainability issues. Global health burden, determinants of health, strategies towards promoting health and applications towards a sustainable approach for the health of humans, animals and the environment will be covered. The course is a 16 contact hour experience in which students are required to attend, participate in presented topics via recorded and live online sessions, engage in discussions as well as develop a seminar presentation on a relevant topic on One Health Ecosystem Health.




The course is divided into four (4) weeks with each week serving as a module focused on a particular Sustainable Approach to One Health, One Medicine. Each module will include recorded lectures, live seminars, live office hours, reading materials, quiz and a blog for posting submissions to a discussion question. This course will contribute to the development of healthcare professionals, who will demonstrate multidisciplinary knowledge and competence in dealing with global health issues, desire for lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary team work, and professional and ethical behavior in practice in order to improve and sustain the health of the humans, animals and the environment.
