We explore the ways in which emotion is conceptualized and expressed in human language, especially in English and Spanish. We look into the expression of emotion at the different linguistic levels (morphological, phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic), and we also present the results of some interdisciplinary studies which have tried to shed light into the relationship between the expression of human emotion and emotional intelligence, as well as into how the capacity to express and manage our emotions can foster our leadership skills and/or have a positive effect on our relationships and development at the workplace.
