Intro Biology (WMA)

Intro Biology (WMA)
Biology core material, which includes the fundamental principles of genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, & cell biology.

Biological function at the molecular level is particularly emphasized & covers regulation of genes & the structure, as well as, synthesis of proteins & the structure, how these molecules are integrated into cells, & how these cells are integrated into organisms & multicellular systems. In addition, each version of the subject has its own distinctive material. First semester focuses on the exploration of current research in cell biology, immunology, neurobiology, genomics, & molecular medicine. Second semester focuses on the application of the fundamental principles toward an understanding of human biology. Topics include cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, disease (infectious agents, inherited diseases & cancer), developmental biology, neurobiology & evolution.
