New HIV infections in children remain a major concern despite great progress in antiretroviral therapy (ART) coverage during pregnancy. Children are also less likely than adults to be diagnosed, initiate treatment, and achieve durable viral suppression.
In this edition of the Online Meeting Highlights, you will capture the most important aspects of pediatric HIV care through real-life data and case presentations. Alongside children living with HIV, our experts' presentations will shed light on HIV infected adolescence. They will give you insights into factors that contribute to the disproportionate success in reducing new HIV infections among the different age groups, and why adolescents are one of the most rapidly growing populations with HIV.
In this period of major physical, psychological, and emotional changes, adolescents face specific challenges in the adherence and retention in care. You will be guided through all compartments of a successful model of care for youth living with HIV, including the transition to adult care and meaningful engagement of youth in services and research.
All modules can be followed independently and at your own pace. Complete the entire course to equip yourself with the knowledge to work towards making a significant impact on the survival and quality of life of children and adolescents affected by HIV.
