This course is a 2 credit hour course that is offered over a period of 14 study weeks. There are 5 units, and each unit is divided into smaller managable parts. It is recommended that you complete each part within the stipulated time.
This course is "hands on" and "minds on" to help the information "stick" better. If you find it a little hard, you can always play and replay the videos, or read and reread the reading materials and so on.
At the end of the course it is hoped that you achieve all the learning outcomes. Along the way, you will earn kudos and badges and finally, a certificate of completion upon completing the course.
This course is a journey towards becoming an efficient Technical Communicator. The way this course is structured is progressive, and your technical communication skills will become better after the completion of each unit.
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
1. Determine salient information from listening tasks related to technical information using accurate language
2. Demonstrate presentation skills using relevant content, accurate language and appropriate delivery strategies individually and in groups
3. Apply reading strategies and grammar components for technical reading materials and documents
4. Write technical documents using specific technical language, correct format and relevant content
