Art therapy for collectors (Skillshare)
This class is first part of my art therapy classes. This is a class for those who like play with art materials and like to collect items like postcards or any other type or paper ephemera. It is designed for compulsive hoarders, but suits everybody.

We will make a postcards collage in a book. By using some teared post cards, we will create a funny page. The name of my project become "Selfie with a poet", but you can choose another subject or not aim to create any particular piece of art, but just concentrate on emotions, which you will feel during a process.

Steps of the project:

1. Preparation. You need to select a book and an ephemera you will use. In case you will use a cupboard raw materials you will need to split and to tear them. You will need to choose subject matter of the project and your face to face partner. I have chosen a face I found on one of a postcard as a subject matter and a picture of a poet I have found in the book as face to face partner. Feel free to do the same or choose other subject of your art piece.

2. Collage. From the prepared ephemera pieces we will glue a collage in from of our face to face subject.

3. We will add some colours to ours pages using watercolor crayons, watercolor pencils and markers. The final detail will be drawn by regular pencils.

Materials you need for the project:

1. Old book with pictures and good paper. You can use a notebook and sketchbook if you prefer.

2. An ephemera in 3 colours. I have used postcards.

2. Glue, or other adhesive medium. I have used Acrylic gel medium.

3. White and transparent gesso primer.

4. Water colour crayons and/or watercolour pencils in contrasting colors - dark and light. Additionally or alternatively you might want to use watercolours.

5. Any surface markers.

6 Regular colored pencils in two dark colors.

Feel free to replace any materials in any stage. For example gesso primer can be easily replaced with a regular wall paint.
