American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education - AACTE

The Leading Voice on Educator Preparation
Founded in 1948, the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) is a national alliance of educator preparation programs dedicated to high-quality, evidence-based preparation that assures educators are profession-ready as they enter the classroom.
The over 800 member institutions, which prepare a large majority of the nation’s educators, represent public and private colleges and universities in every state in the U.S. as well as in the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Through advocacy and capacity building, AACTE promotes innovation and effective practices that strengthen educator preparation.
AACTE champions high-quality preparation that ensures the effectiveness, diversity, and readiness of professional educators to serve all students. Through AACTE’s Quality Support Center – educator preparation’s source for professional learning on quality assurance – educators can access a variety of resources to enhance their work in evidence-based program improvement.
Our Courses offer the latest resources to educators engaged in the work of continuous improvement, assessment, and accreditation.
