To earn the equivalent of a minor in European History, you must complete a suite of required core courses followed by two courses focusing on specific geographical regions and one elective selected from the 200- or 300-level in a concentration other than European History.

To earn the equivalent of a minor in European History, you must complete a suite of required core courses followed by two courses focusing on specific geographical regions and one elective selected from the 200- or 300-level in a concentration other than European History. This minor will assist you in preparing to pursue a career in international affairs, politics, education, journalism, business, or law.


Required Core Courses:
Ancient Civilizations of the World, or World History in the Early Modern and Modern Eras (1600-Present)
Historical Methodology: The Art and Craft of the Historian
History of Europe, 1000 to 1800
History of Europe, 1800 to the Present


Geographical Concentration Courses:

Select two courses from the following options:
Greece, The Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire
Medieval Europe
The Age of Revolutions in the Atlantic World, 1776-1848
The Age of the Atlantic Slave trade, 1500-1900


Elective Courses:

Select ONE course at the 200- or 300- level in a concentration other than European History.
