As Economics Major, your goal is to better understand how trade, investment, and the movement of people and resources across national boundaries tie the global economy together.

Economics is the study of how people and entities choose to use resources (information, time, money, and raw materials) to create useful products and services in a market environment. As Economics Major, your goal is to better understand how trade, investment, and the movement of people and resources across national boundaries tie the global economy together.


This program will prepare you for a career in academics, consulting, finance, law, and/or the public sector. The introductory level Micro- and Macroeconomics courses will provide you with a solid understanding of the basic principles of economics and teach you to think analytically about incentives, opportunity costs, property rights, and the role of the private and public sector in both regional and international markets.


To fulfill the requirements for this major, you must complete the core program (8 courses) as well as 3 electives of your choice (3 courses) for a total of 11 courses.
